Our formulas and content are informed by clinical data, but also anecdotal data from our community, a majority of which is BIPOC who, especially in a clinical sense, are often left out.” notes Tayag, “The play comes in through our creativity, whether that be our bold campaigns, our design, or even some of our conversations centring overlooked and traditionally taboo topics––for example, we went viral for talking about farts.”


MULTI was born out of CEO Tayag’s decade-long experiences with eczema, acne, psoriasis, leaky gut, and anxiety, where her search for solutions led her to a Naturopathic doctor who emphasized the stress-to-symptom pipeline. She found through research that 91% of people experience physical and/or psychological problems due to stress, validating this white space for MULTI to come in. She sought the science and formulation rigor to combine with her creative and marketing chops which stemmed from years directing her businesses, Schema, a creative and management agency, and Sari-Sari a community organization that uplifts the Filipino Diaspora. She found Addae, MULTI’s Chief Scientific Officer, who also owns Sula Labs, a reputable research and development lab for dark skin that has formulated products for renowned brands found in popular retailers like Sephora, Target, Ulta, and Credo. Knowing they wanted to be trailblazers distinctly in the wellness space, not beauty or skin, the brand sought further guidance from Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Bryant Esquejo, who also advises their formulation and scientific approach. The proudly Filipina and Ghanaian founders, with their fully BIPOC advisory board, are excited to take up space and be lead innovators in an industry where they never felt seen.

 


Their debut offering, the MULTI Patch, is a smiley face hydrocolloid patch powered by the postbiotic, Lactobacillus Ferment. This ingredient makes it the first postbiotic pimple patch on the market.
